Wonderful place, highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Really nice rustic style and if you take "The loft" room you get fantastic views of the mountains from the balcony. My only regret with the hotel is that I never booked enough nights, will be the only hotel I will stay if I'm ever back in Huaraz.

Been to 5 other Selinas in the past couple months and they were all great. Santa Teresa, La Fortuna, Nosara, Lima, and Cusco were all either 5's or 4's. This wasn't just the worst stay of the Selina's, it was the worst that I have ever had. RECEPTION: They were constantly inconvenienced and did nothing but play Candy Crush and Call of Duty if they were there at all. NOISE: The same reception would invite all of their friends and start blasting the music 11PM-3AM. There were only about 5 people staying there and we were all getting up at 5AM/6AM for area tours. I saw someone else mention this and agree that it wasn't guests or people coming in from outside - just some buddies of the reception. SCAMMED: We booked a tour to Laguna 69 for the week we got there. It was 60 soles per person (more expensive than the 50 soles most people were charging). At 10:30PM the night before our tour (which pickup was 5AM the next morning) we got a knock on the door that we owed more money. They told us the tour company called and that the price went up an additional 45 soles per person. We had booked 4 days in advance and were being woken up the night of - not very happy. Went down to the reception and they said they couldn't do anything about it (even though we were paying/booking through Selina). We said we wanted to cancel because of the increase in price - they responded that we would only get a 50% refund. They tried to give the tour company our phone number and ask us to deal with it - this was around 11PM that night. YOGA: We booked partially because we wanted to do Yoga on our off days from hikes. Selena Global confirmed that this site was supposed to have free Yoga. Reception initially told us that wasn't true, but that we could book through the app for a cost. Then the manager came and said that we get one free session, but that the Yoga teacher was never available, so it probably wouldn't happen. Different stories from everyone. Other peoples problems - noise from humming of electricity was keeping someone up, person thought front desk was helping with an issue but saw them playing video games in reflection, person had breakfast included but the cook kept not showing up - they wouldn't refund but gave them a credit to the convenience shop. Top floor was out of toilet paper and soap the entire stay - multiple people asked them to refill. I eventually saw someone go in and go to the bathroom for a while and had to do the walk of shame out to another bathroom. DO NOT STAY HERE, but in general, Selina's are pretty cool.

Loudest place that we have ever stayed, not a great place to have a base camp for adventures if you are planning on hiking or doing day trips. They have loud music playing almost every night until about 2 AM and most tours you have to leave …

This definitely wasn't my favourite Selina. It's really hard to walk in the vicinity of this hotel as there are a lot of vicious dogs. For us, this meant staying in more than we would have liked and ordering food in too. The customer service wasn't too friendly. We were uncomfortable asking questions at the front desk as they would make us feel like an inconvenience. When I was checking in, the lady was randomly rolling her eyes at me and then later complained to another staff member that she was speaking English to me. She didn't even try to speaking Spanish to me (I've checked into many Selinas in Spanish so it would have been fine). When we arrived, they wouldn't let us in check in early and made us wait till exactly 3. We waited but even when it was time to check in, the key wasn't ready. They told us to wait an hour and then when my husband went to ask more than an hour later about the key, the front desk staff asked him "what do you want now?". The cleaning staff and restaurant staff were very friendly. There were great tours offered by the Selina and amazing views from the bedroom window. The pool table was very broken so it wasn't much of an amenity and the bathroom had mold on the ceilings.

Noisy, don’t care about customers, would not recommend it. Unfortunately not living up to the Selina expectations at all. We had a stay in Lima which was great, the stay here very disappointing. When we arrived after the night bus we were looking forward to a nice warm shower. We booked a standard room. That didn’t happen. We went to the reception to ask for hot water. We immediately got the response that this is due to local regulations and that they are not allowed to keep the hot water on. We had no clue, so we asked around… it turned out we’ve been lied to without a second thought. There is no such regulation. The toilet didn’t flush and the whole place is very noisy. When you want to get up early to get the bus to a hike at 07:00. You’re not happy with a few of the staff partying till 02:00/03:00 am. Which happened to us 2 of the 4 nights. All in all wouldn’t recommend it if you come to enjoy the nature in this beautiful area.

Loud! Motorcycle gangs pull up at 10PM on week nights to party below you while jackhammers and construction workers make noise all day long. Save yourself the hassle. Our friends had the right mind to leave the first night while we were dumb enough to give them another shot.

Loud music on a Wednesday, we had not been notified of and is not apart of the policy. Worst part of our entire stay so far. Insane party hostel. Not just loud music. Which is not advertised anywhere. Everyone I have talked to at the hostel hates it. But there are a 100 people outside.

Truly the worst part of my Peru experience. It is currently Wednesday night (morning) at 3am and the music is so loud I have been unable to sleep before my long awaited climbing trip today. I have been sleep deprived since I got to Huaraz and my experience has been poor, directly the fault of this hostel. I urge others to stay elsewhere.
